tough battle, both have limits to their power. GL 24 hours, Spawn use to much and he's gone. If Spawn can destroy the ring then Hal (or any lantern) is dead. But how much power would it take to get to somebody who has limitless powers (for 24 hours) and can make anything appear our of air. GL ring is so powerful he could create another Spawn (except green) or even re-create hell (a green one). I think the amount of power Spawn has to use to get to the GL will exhaust his powers and send him back to hell. don't forget guys Spawn can only use so much of his power before he has to hell. If Satan said Spawn here is all the power I have go for it then spawn would win because they would battle for 24 hours and GL's ring would have no bars left in the battery. But this is not the case, can't add any extraneous stuff into this. this is a "mano-y-mano" battle to add more power from satan than spawn already has is not right, what if you say "oh well Hal Jordan loves Jesus, so if he fights Spawn and Satan gives Spawn new powers then, Jesus would help Hal Jordan beat Spawn" that's ridiculous. "mano-y-mano" Spawn would use so much power against GL he would have expired his contract with the devil and be sent back to hell, GL would take a worse beating than Spawn but after using the limited power that Satan gave him to fight GL spawn would be zapped out of existence and GL would still be in existence, barely alive. but the question is "greatest" not who would win in a fight. It's close but Green Lantern is greater for shear popularity over a longer amount of time (even though nobody was as hot as spawn in any single time period) and for greatest effect on rest of comic kingdom. 10/02/2008 01:31

spawn just tries 2 gett his girl back and when he notices that he cant and that he is a monster he gets really mad and that's what gives him his power. (hate) so since hes been through alot he can just snap his fingers and kill him. and spawn has unlimited powers. 05/07/2008 19:42

Let's analyze "the powers of hell and satan", shall we? Dude is forever tortured in the worst place in existence, with no way to leave, and no way of diminishing the pain.
