Bix: Top 10 Dogs Battle!: Yorkshire Terrier vs German Shepherd

I picked yorkies only because we have had ours longer than our sheperd pup. Our yorkies are far from prissy and love to hunt mice in our home. They all rough house together. I was concerned at first but they love each other very much and our sheperd now protects the little ones from all harm so its great. So I would say both are wonderful dogs to own. Yorkies do tend to live longer than sheperds. 10/05/2008 20:07

My Yorkie Kody Bear was the best traveling buddy I ever had. Airplane, car whatever the travel and he loved it. Could excerise himself, never met a stranger. He loved cheese we finally stop saying cheese spell it he learned what we were doing we started calling it the yellow stuff he learned that. I now have my second pure bred Shepherd, have a shepherd mix - they are the most wonderful, loyal, protective and smart dogs I have ever had.....Easiest ones I have had to train too...out of Great Dane's, Chow's, Labs, Cocker Spaniels and Cockapoo's definately my pick to have...mine even listens to my 4 yr old. 03/14/2008 10:15

I own a yorkire terrier as well. I have to agree with them not shedding any hair and they do eat less. They are very calm, cute, and great companions as well. When I cry and get sad, she feels my pain and sits netxt to me. She licks me a lot though… hehe! 03/13/2008 11:25

If you want a dog that will protect you and your family it would have to be a German Shepherd. They are loving, loyal, obedient and fearless. In January our long haired German Shepherd passed away. He was my companion for over 10 1/2 years. When I decide to adopt a new dog it will be a Shepherd. He has sold me on the breed. 02/21/2008 12:53
