the great white shark atacks surfers and scubadivers that have watches or other shinny things on.....surfers cause they look like seals to the shark cause when the surfers r swimming out there feet and hands r off the board witch looks likes fins to the shark....and the scubadivers with shinny objects cause the look like fish to the shark...fact of the great white shark:people killed:64....people hurt:367:mostly surfers and scubadivers with shinny stuff.^_^ 08/15/2007 01:18

It's true: once a Great White has decided it wants to find out whether you fit on its menu of the day, your chances to get away alive are rather limited. On the other hand, most Great White attacks are not 'meant' to be lethal - which, of course, doesn't help you at all. For the shark it was a test bite - you are missing an arm or leg, even if the fish leaves you alone after noticing its mistake. Still, despite all the scary teeth and powerful jaws, this is not the blood thirsty killing machine we've been brought up to see in it. Let's face it: if Great Whites really preyed on humans, we'd not be able to enter the water anymore. Regarding the most formidable sensory system these beautiful animals are equipped with, they definitely *knew* were to find us, should they actually *want* to. They don't. That's the only reason we're still able to do things like swimming, surfing and canoeing without being bothered by Great Whites at all most of the time. Now stats dont show this because people encounter gators more than sharks but in all these picks the sharks have to be ne most More dangerous simply because a human is out of his element. There is no possible way to out swim or hide from an attacking shark.
