Bull sharks aren't bull..what makes them especially frightening is that they can survive as long as 2 years in freshwater because their bodies are capable of trapping saltwater inside themselves for long periods of time, therefore the transition into freshwater is a piece of cake. Bull sharks have traveled as far north as the St. Louis metro area, sometime in the late 90s I believe it was, a fisherman in the Miss. reeled in a bull shark in the city of Alton, Illinois. They are superior predators, they are fast. Definitely one of the shark species that is most dangerous to humans, though that is a bit of an oxymoron because we kill about 100 million sharks a year and there are just a handful of "shark attacks" a year. In some areas of the world actually, Bull sharks are quite timid and tranquil, like around Cuba, but on the other side, in areas like Recife, Brazil, they are very aggressive and are singlehandedly responsible for the frequent shark attacks they have along the beaches of that city. U have to be really careful around this animal .. 11/06/2007 09:02
Bull Shark are one of the most aggressive shark species, make sure you know what your doing when you decide to get into the water with these stealthy predators! 11/05/2007 14:17
I've been eye to eye with a large bull shark. He wanted to eat me. Plain and simple. Not a shred of feeling or indecision. I was food. Feeling superior? Try it! 10/21/2007 12:21
Bull sharks are prob the most deadly shark ahead of the great white because of the fact that they are more likely to run accross a human than a great white, and the fact that they can survive in freshwater for extended periods of time and have been seen hundreds of miles upstream of rivers. If you're smart and look for signs to avoid your chances of being attacked are slimmed even more. Sides, attacks are extremely rare, you're more likely to die from a falling coconut. Sides, whos the real killer, each year theres about 75-150 attacks, a handful of which are fatal: now take into account humans kill sharks in a couple of hundred thousand each year to use for shark fin soup ( and often they just cut off the fins and throw the live shark back in the water afterward). 08/02/2007 00:45
sigh...ok, an African to the rescue...hippos kill more people in Africa than any other animal, not the elephant....but for arguments sake, lets stay in the U.S. The Bull shark not only can survive and feed in fresh water, but also is fueled by aggression due to a HUGE amount of testosterone (more than any other animal known to man). There are far more fatalities as well as attacks by the bull shark than the grizzly. 07/31/2007 13:53
great whites might not be the most dangerous but you gotta give em props for thier size. there was a paper over hear quite a few years back, youve probly heard of it, or not, but they found this enormous great white and when they killed it they cut it open. the shark swallowed a full grown man, woman and a kid. no serious cuts, bite marks or anything, the shark just swallowed whole. that has got to suck. imagine chillin in the stomach like, you definately know you arent gonna be home later. all of a sudden you dont care about they insurance payment lol. 07/31/2007 10:16
wow, the comment below is a very well thought out desrciption of why sharks attack, this guy must be some kind of biologist or something 07/31/2007 08:49
I picked Shark mainly because of the location. If you think about it, if you managed to get our of the ferocious beasts array of teeth, your still in the middle of the ocean. Also, if you know anything about sharks most of them can smell blood from miles away. More than likely the same shark will finish you off, or other sharks will come and join in. Meanwhile, you’re still trying to swim your self to safety with a massive hole in your side. Not to mention that bull sharks can swim in fresh water as well, so they will swim into rivers and possibly lakes looking for pray.On the other hand if your attacked by a bear, and managed to get away, your on solid ground. You have a lot more to your advantage like rocks, sticks, possibly a gun if you were smart enough to know you will be hiking in bear county. Even if you didn't have anything you can still run away, especially downhill because bears cant run downhill. That’s why the bull shark is the most dangerous.

It's even more difficult for them to tell humans from their prey than fro Great Whites or Tigers - they often hunt in estuaries, and all among you diving know about the usual visibility there. Since Bull Sharks belong to the few sharks tolerant to brackish water and therefore are able to swim upstream, their mistaken attacks come mostly as a surprise. Who expects a shark in a river...? 07/30/2007 23:18
They're not as bad as hippos which will attack you if you get anywhere near them.. sharks are usually shy and almost never attack humans and when they do its usually because they mistaked them for a different animal. 07/30/2007 21:04
Well id hate to face any shark in the water… but yea i mean no where to hide unless u are a super fast swimmer that can go about 40 miles per hour through the water. 07/30/2007 17:40
Don't even get me started with skarks there the worst most scariest things i not an atelete champion swimmer neither are you sharks and spiders i would say the worst! 07/30/2007 14:06
Can sharks run? Can they climb? If you have a pissed off bear after you, there is not much you can do: It can run, climb and swim. Just make sure you can run faster than the other guy with you. 07/30/2007 14:02
Now stats dont show this because people encounter and animals more than sharks but in all these picks the sharks have to be ne most More dangerous simply because a human is out of his element. There is no possible way to out swim or hide from an attacking shark. Although I don’t want to tangle with any of these animals, in an all out attack by anyone of them I would rather be on land. 07/30/2007 12:10
